BAGGERY FIENDS is an art collective, created and curated by Max MacInnes.
Who is a Scottish born, Australia/UK based city film photographer and filmer.
“I wanted to start this creative space for the underground communities that still remains overshadowed by the mainstream image. He first picked up a film camera in 2017 during a hiatus caused by a skateboard injury and started to document the lowrider scene that was starting to gain momentum in Australia. By watching lowriders videos from the 90s in Los Angeles on Youtube, pioneers such as ‘CALISWANGIN’ and ‘YOUNG HOGG’. It made him crave to pick up a VHS camera like them and start recording lowrider videos of his own called ‘DIPPIN TAPES’.
Since as well being a big fan of the American hip hop culture, especially having a strong interest in southern rap, he opted to finally visit the state of Texas in 2022 and document the ‘SLAB’ car culture that is prominent in the city of Houston. While doing so in his time in the states, he visited the city of Los Angeles to finally get to experience the lowrider culture which sparked the idea for his collective ‘BAGGERY FIENDS’
Since returning to Australia, he has continued to document the growing underground groups in the skateboarding and lowriding scenes. BAGGERY FIENDS goal is to leave a solid mark in history for the future generations to look upon.
